Step into Dayglow and you’ll feel like you’ve just teleported to a secret hipster hideout. It’s so small, it’s like a hallway with coffee. The staff is friendly enough, but sometimes they give off a “too cool for school” vibe that makes you wonder if you accidentally walked into a casting call for a new indie film.
But enough about the ambiance, let’s talk about the star of the show: the matcha latte. Dayglow uses Mizuba Daily Matcha and let me tell you, it’s a matcha made in heaven. Mizuba is know for great matcha. The of this latte is delicious, with just the right balance of sweet and earthy.
The only downside was that it was made a little too hot for my liking, but it wasn’t overly bitter, so I’ll let it slide. Overall, this is easily one of the best matcha lattes in Chicago.
