If you’re a matcha lover, Passion House in Chicago is worth a visit. They may have made some questionable decisions in the past (like switching from Spirit Tea to Rishi Matcha), but their matcha drinks are still decent. The staff is friendly and tries their best to whip up a tasty matcha latte, even if it tends to be a tad too hot and bitter. But hey, it’s still a solid choice. And if you’re lucky, you might stumble upon one of their amazing matcha or espresso specialty lattes. (Like “The Future” or something like that… it was kind of an espresso Old Fashioned, and it was truly one of the best drinks I’ve ever had). So if you’re nearby and craving some matcha, swing by Passion House.
What to order: The standard Hot or Iced Matcha Latte. They also have a specialty matcha latte with cardamom and it’s fine, but I usually stick to the regular.
